About me

Hi, I’m Mauricio Teixeira Junior, a Civil Engineering student at Griffith University, currently working as an Undergraduate Civil Engineer at Shadforth. My passion lies in turning complex designs into real, functional infrastructure and I’m fortunate to be doing that already.

At Shadforth, I’ve been supporting the delivery of urban development projects, helping to manage everything from stormwater and sewer installation to road pavements and footpaths. Working closely with a Project Engineer, I contribute to procurement, quality assurance, weekly reporting, and site coordination. This hands-on experience has given me a front row seat to the civil construction process and taught me the importance of detail, communication, and site safety.

At Griffith, I’ve worked on several practical and group-based engineering projects, including:

  • A truss design project involving detailed structural analysis and force calculations

  • A tensile testing report examining material behaviours under load

  • A corrosion study focused on long-term material durability

  • Design of purlins and rafters, with an emphasis on precision and adherence to Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 1170 and AS 4100)

  • A Strand7-based structural modelling project, where I determined the ideal span for a steel frame based on shear, bending, and deflection performance

  • Coursework in concrete design, hydrology, soil mechanics, and construction methods.

These experiences have strengthened my understanding of both the theory and the practical demands of civil engineering. I’m motivated by the challenge of delivering infrastructure that complies with Australia standards. I’m committed to continuously learning, collaborating, and contributing wherever I can.

I’m driven to keep learning and growing toward a future role as a Project Engineer, where I can bring both practical experience and technical insight together to deliver smart, sustainable infrastructure.
